Tina

CO-OWNER & HAIRSTYLIST

I started hairdressing at 14 years old where I began as a shampoo girl at the bottom of the totem pole. Having my mother as my mentor allowed me to learn about the ins and outs of the profession as well as the importance of dedication and consistency. I quickly fell in love with being a hair stylist and was mesmerized by how such a small transformation can bring such self love and happiness. Now, being a hairstylist for 25 years, I am able to share my knowledge with the younger girls coming in while also continuing to learn about the new trends and products in an industry that is constantly evolving. I am extremely proud to finally co-own the salon and am looking forward to the new experiences and joy that GIA Hair Studio will bring.

Kallie

Hairstylist

My passion for hairdressing started at a very young age. Growing up in a salon with my mom who was also a hairstylist, I always enjoyed visiting with all her clients, new and old. Then eventually working as a shampoo girl as I got old enough, then I started cosmetology in high school and the rest is history. I've been in salon full time since early 2021, and everyday I'm eager to grow in an industry that is constantly evolving. Whether it's a fresh cut or vibrant new colour I'm always excited to have guests in my chair, and make sure they leave feeling their very best.

Lamees

Hairstylist

My touch for the beauty industry started at a very very young age. I remember my 8 year old self watching CuteGirlsHairstyles on my iPad every night before school and practicing these crazy braids in front of my mirror. Fast forward to high school, I took cosmetology as an option in grade 10 with no intent of becoming a hairstylist. Covid hit my first year of highschool which led me to finishing cosmo online- and it sucked. Then in grade 11, I took cosmo again with my friends for fun, again with no intent of becoming a hairstylist but I couldn’t not take the course. It wasn’t until my teacher told me this “Lamees you have a touch for hair that I’ve never seen in any of my students before you have to finish to the 30 level (grade12)” which made it obvious that this is the career for me. I’ve been at Gia’s since November of 2023, and I’m so happy to say I’ve found my home. Tina is an amazing mentor, teacher, and boss duh. Not only does she teach all the tips and tricks in the real world, but she has taught me to be courageous and to persevere through the ups and downs. I can’t wait to continue my journey with all my beautiful clients and an amazing team!

Ibtehal

Hairstylist

Hi!! My name is Ibtehal, but many people call me Ibs or Ibby (a lot easier lol). Ever since I was younger, I’ve always loved anything beauty related. My aunt was hairstylist/nail-tech and she’s honestly one of the coolest people I know and someone I’ve always looked up to in so many ways. Growing up, I was always doing my friends hair and my own because I loved the creativity behind it and how confident it could make people feel.I explored other career paths over the years, but I always had a passion and drive for hairstyling that kept pulling me back. I started school in January 2024 and graduated at the end of the year, and that’s when I truly realized this is what I want to do with my life. I joined Gia not long ago and I am more than grateful to be here! I love learning, growing, and getting constructive criticism because if you never fail or fall you never learn.I’m so excited to be part of such an amazing team, and excited to meet everyone who sits in my chair. -ibs <3
